Summer has fallen away and our inspiration for beautiful autumnal weddings has ignited. From the softly changing leaves in our surrounding West Sussex countryside to the promise of toasting marshmallows on our fire pit, autumn whips up the romance in us all.
One autumnal Southend Barns wedding which truly captured our hearts, was the rose gold pumpkin themed day of Emily and James. The couple chose a colour palette of whites, creams and soft pastels which were beautifully enhanced by splashes of metallic rose gold that featured in everything from the bridesmaid’s outfits to the piles of pretty pumpkins which adorned our barn venue.
When planning your wedding décor considering what is in season – be it flowers or your menu choices – is a great way to not only tap into the feel of your wedding month, but also provide more cost-effective options. Emily and James chose to embrace autumnal produce in their decorating style by using a collection of beautifully coloured pumpkins to add detail and interest to their day. Although they left most of the pumpkins to show off their natural creams and pastel greens, the couple chose to spray paint a few in metallic rose gold and glitter, which tied in perfectly with their wedding theme. The overall effect was a breath taking and unusual take on autumnal wedding styling.
Metallics have been a popular choice amongst brides and grooms recently. We have seen iridescent hues adoring everything from decorations and cakes to bridesmaid dresses and wedding stationery – we’re hoping to see this shimmering trend continue into the New Year.
