Vibrant, luscious, beautiful green is the colour on everyone’s lips this year thanks to Pantone naming greenery the colour of 2017. Inspired by a growing desire to connect with nature, greenery signifies new beginnings, a celebration of life and also – something which as an eco-build we feel very strongly about – the environment.
There’s nothing we love more than a glorious green wedding and our rustic barns provide the dream backdrop for striking unstructured wreaths, garlands and acres of textured foliage. In the past our brides and grooms have chosen some gorgeous natural décor options. We have seen stunning indoor meadows with our 22-foot aisle flanked with blossoming delphiniums and couples have even brought the woodlands inside with 10-foot trees in pots.
Another lovely way to incorporate the greenery trend into your big day is by adding some natural accessories to your wedding day ensemble. Beautiful crowns made from delicate jasmine, ferns or eucalyptus can look utterly ethereal on a bride and can also be a really effective look for bridesmaids. Gentleman can also embrace the trend with beautifully simple but fragrant buttonholes of wild grasses and fresh herbs.
The greenery trend was made for stunning tablescapes. Clusters of mismatched foliage in jam jars or vases make for beautiful unstructured centrepieces or ensure your tables make a real impact with leafy branches dripping with fairy lights.
Another lovely trend several of our couples have embraced is suspending floral arrangements from our beams. The large garlands make full use of all the space available and really draw the eye up to our beautiful rafters. Other couples have made use of the beams by hanging garlands of hops from them and wrapping foliage around pillars to create an enchanted forest effect.
We are always so excited to see the picturesque themes our couples dream up for their weddings and are always happy to lend our wedding expertise to help in the planning process if desired. Greenery poses so many beautiful possibilities for wedding décor and we can’t wait to see how the trend influences our 2017 brides and grooms.
