Fairy Tale Wedding Style

If fiction is your thing then there are lots of creative ways to incorporate an element of the make believe into your big day without compromising on style. We’ve seen several couples embrace their love of films, books or TV shows, and effectively factor them into their big day.

One wedding which tugged on the literary heart strings was that of Meg and Rob who were married here in the spring. Not only did Meg transform into a real-life Cinderella, wearing an exact replica of the exquisite floral wedding dress worn by Lily James in the film version of the fairy tale, but the couple injected their favourite childhood books into nearly every aspect of their day. From the groomsmen’s Mr Men socks and the brides bespoke, hand painted Harry Potter dancing shoes to book themed table plans and centrepieces.

Another memorable wedding was Callum and Alex’s. Their Elven meets Viking theme was inspired by their shared love of Lord of the Rings. From the beautiful handmade head piece and Elven ears to the transformation of our Dairy Barn into an enchanted woodland, the overall effect was out of this world.

Table décor offers lots of creative ways to subtly incorporate a fun theme into your wedding. We loved one couple’s beautiful winter wedding which featured Star Wars figurines nestled amongst pinecones and candles in their table centrepieces.

Cakes are also a great way to add a little fun to your wedding. Either go the whole hog with an impressive iced creation featuring the entire cast of The Avengers or add a nod to your favourite character with a themed cake topper. One of our favourite cakes appeared at first to be a traditional white floral design, but when rotated it revealed a hidden superhero theme featuring vibrant layers depicting all the couple’s favourite vigilante logos.
