Styling the Secret Garden

This summer marks a year since we first opened The Secret Garden, our beautiful outdoor ceremony area. We were lucky enough to enjoy a sun soaked season for the launch and this year is looking just as good with couples taking full advantage of the lovely weather; saying their vows surrounded by friends and family in the stunning surroundings of our gardens.

Over the course of the year it has been wonderful to see how different couples have chosen to style The Secret Garden in their own, unique way.

The pagoda is the main focal point in the garden and it has been exciting to watch the florists and stylists coming up with new ways to decorate the space. From cascading foliage and greenery to more structured hanging floral arrangements incorporating a couple’s colour theme. We’ve also seen arches of flowers and balloons, and a more recent trend has been the moon gate. A large halo, often in bronze or gold, decorated either fully or partially with flowers and foliage.

With its long sweeping aisle, lots of couples choose to dot vases, vintage-inspired jam jars or oversized helium balloons alongside the benches in The Secret Garden, which are swathed in luxurious fur throws.

While we love seeing the creativity of couples, we also appreciate those that choose the stripped back look, making the most of the natural beauty of the garden with its abundant borders and combination of textures, from the rust gates and flint walls to the concrete benches.

With summer now in full swing, we can’t wait to see more couples take their first steps together into married life under the beautiful skies and in the peaceful tranquillity of our outdoor ceremony area.
